Reinhardt Microbiology - Who we are and what we do.
We are engaged and have expertise and knowledge in the following:
- Epidemiology and the identification of sites of contamination with microbes.
- Remediation measures needed to identify, minimize and eliminate microbe hazards in hospitals, industrial, commercial and home environments.
- Guideline formulation for the specific control and elimination of potentially harmful microorganisms in different settings.
- Expert witness testimony related to microbial contamination, infection and diseases.
- Evaluation or implementation of quality control and sampling protocols for industrial, medical, businesenvironmental
We also evaluate industrial and medical products including : personal care items, nebulizers, humidifiers, packaging rooms, sterile rooms, foods, food products, cosmetics, reagents, chemicals, biochemicals, ocular and periocular products (mascaras, eye shadows, contact lenses, and contact lens solutions, i.e., cleaners and disinfectants).
We understand the best physical and biocidal approaches to microbial control, public health and other medical microbiology issues that can escape ordinary care and inspection.
Dr. Reinhardt has worked on the enumeration and identification of specific microbes and their products. He assists in the design and development of new products and reagents with protective and sustained antimicrobial activity. He helps in the design, redesign or remediation of manufacturing and production sites.
Dr. Reinhardt has expertise in the area of gram-negative fermenting and non-fermenting bacilli, spore forming bacteria, molds (filamentous fungi) and yeasts and assists in the identification, control, and removal of offending microbes.
Our Expertise and Knowledge
Reinhardt Microbiology has expertise and knowledge in:
- The identification and control of microorganisms including sterilization, disinfection, and inhibition of microbes.
- The application of microbial control mechanisms in all environments, including manufacturing and industrial, natural, and man-made settings.
- Sampling, isolation and best identification techniques for microbes including bacteria, mold and yeasts.
Services
Reinhardt Microbiology offers consultation in a wide range of fields.
We offer full-time or part-time specific consultation and advice and specific plans for the analysis, prevention, control, remediation of contamination, degradation and product destruction issues as well as environmental issues related to Microbiology with emphasis on Bacteriology and Mycology.
To obtain these goals we offer Specific Product and Onsite Inspections, Evaluations and Assessments and we outline and formulate specific plans of action for record-keeping, control, sanitation, disinfection, sterilization and other measures designed to prevent, control and eliminate microbial contamination and implement strong and rigid quality control of microbes.
We assist and help evaluate and understand water, liquid, and air microbial contamination.
We are able to provide strong and effective training and understanding of personnel in need of such training by lectures with slides, videos and group discussions with Q&A sessions. These are lively, not boring and highly recommended formats that are currently a new part of our outreach to meet needs for industrial and medical personnel with real needs for better understanding and insights into bioth simple and complex problems. Ask about our plans and programs to see if we have one to fit your needs.
Sessions may be as short as an hour, to a full day to sessions of up to three days as needed.
A summary list of some topics and areas of expertise and training include:
Basic Microbiology and Principles
Handwashing, Sanitization, Sanitation and Quality Control issues
· Infection control
· Nosocomial (Hospital-Acquired) Diseases
· Bacterial Endotoxin; Exotoxin; Gram Negative Bacteria; Fungi
· Expert witness and legal consultations in Microbiology and Medical Microbiology
Product Quality Control, Evaluation of current methods and recommended guidelines for QC and sampling procedures
Design of methods or experiments or both for environmental evaluation and control of microbial contamination
Mold analyses and remediation procedures and actions for homes and commercial residences
A Few Examples of Reinhardt Microbiology Expertise in Action
Problem and Remediations & Resolutions:
1. Problem: One manufacturer experience continued and sporadic mold contamination identified in the medical product. There was significant financial loss.
Remediation: Reinhardt Microbiology detected the source of the contamination and eliminated that source.
2. Problem: Mold growing in a widely used and distributed manufactured product.
Remediation: The organism was isolated and identified and a suitable inhibitor was recommended and added to the product. This effectively eliminated the offending microbe and the product was sold and produced without issue since that time.
3. Problem: Liquid and solid product had a unique bacterial contamination. Medical clients were being sued by the offended and harmed parties who had already received settlement from the manufacturer.
Resolution: Reinhardt Microbiology identified failures in sample size and assay procedures by the manufacturer. We presented evidence that the physicians had reasonable expectations that the product should have been safe and secure, if the right procedures had been followed. The manufacturer agreed with our summation and paid additional funds to the original plaintiffs to settle the suit out of court. In summary, Reinhardt Micro provided detailed expert analysis and advice that vindicated the client and made trials and further litigation unnecessary.

Personal Thinking Update on the Coronavirus, COVID-19
A Viral Message for All as a Philosophical and Sociological Perspective
THE Coronavirus, aka COVID-19, cares not how much money, fame or shame you have. The virus is indifferent to your skin color, race, sex, relationships, family status, vocation or job. The virus is not politically correct and does not care about the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, Amendments or any history. The virus is unconcerned about whether you are an Independent, Republican or Democrat. As a dependent piece of encapsulated organic RNA or DNA any virus can multiply from one to a billion within a few short hours. The virus only cares whether your cells or my cells can be attached to and then be transported inside these cells and use the cell's own manufacturing facilities to make hundreds or thousands of the viral nucleic acid and its covering. Yes, when that malicious task is done, then the virus finds a way to be released, to escape and then to find more living cells inside and outside of you and me. So, remember this, COVID-19 is not benign in intent. How you dress, what your drive, where you live, whether you are unarmed or armed, matters not. Who you love, who you don't, is irrevelant to COVID19, or any virus to be honest.
The only thing that matters to each virus is can I reach you, enter your cells and multiply wildly with complete abandon. Remember these things and you will understand how viruses behave-- no morals, no worries, just a simple dependent existence that works for all viruses.
As far as any virus is concerned, it takes no brains to be a virus, they have none.
That is why, we who are potential hosts to these pathogens need to think this through and do the best we can to protect ourselves.
Blessings and love to All,
DON
